2. Which of your pieces most helped you identify or explore and develop your God-given abilities? Discuss.
The piece that helped me develop my God-given abilities the most was my research topic. This is because I had to find something that I was interested in, and develop my worldview on it through research and logic. God gave me the ability to reason, and I was able to support my reasoning with facts when I wrote my research topic paper.
3.Which of your pieces best demonstrates your ability to communicate effectively? Give three reasons and explain.
The piece that demonstrated my ability to communicate effectively was probably me Kite Runner Final Essay. This is because I had to first think about what I thought on the issue of how important truth is. Secondly, I had to communicate what I thought and had to do so effectively in order for the reader to understand what I was trying to say. Thirdly I had to find what the book and culture thought on this issue and communicate that effectively as well.
4. Which piece either demonstrates striving for excellence or discusses striving for excellence and its importance in another area besides writing? Explain
Personally, I believe that the piece that demonstrated striving for excellence most was my research topic. It shows how important it is to be well researched before you argue a topic. It also demonstrated striving for excellence because I had to do a lot of research and write a lot of drafts before I could finish the piece. It shows the importance in other areas because it shows that doing research is so much better than not doing research.
5. Which of your pieces explores why it is important to act as a responsible member of the global community? Explain.
The piece that explores why it is important to be a responsible member of the global community is the Kite Runner final essay. This is because being a responsible member of the global community includes telling the truth, and the entirety of my essay is about the importance of truth, so that is a piece that shows why it is important to be a responsible member of the global community.
6. How did this course help you to know, understand, and apply biblical principles? Explain, giving specific
examples.
Through the various essays and things that we wrote throughout this year we learned to know, understand and apply biblical principles in our writing. For example, in my final essay Kite Runner I wrote about truth, and I had to research the Bible on what it thinks about truth. This is an application of Biblical principles because the Biblical view of truth is a Biblical principal.
7. How did this course help you to think independently, creatively, and analytically? Explain.
I wrote all my essays without help, especially with the online learning and everything. I had to think independently and write all my essays. On top of that we had to write some creative essays which required me to creatively formulate my points. Finally, we had to think analytically because I had to write a lot of analytical essays such as the Kite runner essays, the mini essays, and the merchant of venice essays.
